My love for the subject of math, physics, and teaching comes from a lifetime of studying the subjects and realizing how useful they can be in understanding everything in the world around me. My love for the subject of math, physics, and teaching comes from a lifetime of studying the subjects and realizing how useful they can be in understanding everything in the world around me. I enjoy helping others realize their own potential, and I have yet to find a student that I could not help understand the material they asked me to teach them. I have been tutoring all levels of math and physics for years.

I usually like to bring a dry erase board with me to lessons so that I essentially have an endless amount of scratch paper. This enables me to quickly draw sketches of a problem or work out a problem in multiple ways explaining what I am doing as I go along. I often give students a chance to also solve a problem on my board after they have seen me solve a few problems. I recommend every student have a dry erase board at home for the simple ability to practice solving various math and physics problems.
I often get the reaction from students that my explanations on how to solve a problem are easier to understand than what their teacher taught them and that the problems they used to think were confusing are now very easy for them to solve. It always puts a smile on my face when a student tells me that they are now making As on their tests.

I like to teach students how to look a problem and figure out the best ways to solve it without having to go down paths that may be more work than needed. I will start by telling them how I would approach various problems and why and then I tell them how to look at problems and what methods can be used to make solving problems easier. After this I give a student the opportunity to apply what I have told them to problems as I listen to them verbally analyze the problem to be solved.

There are usually many ways to solve any given problem, and I am very good at finding all the possible solutions and helping my students recognize them as well. When tutoring students, I like to solve a few example problems for the student while explaining each step and showing all

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have a degree in Electrical Engineering. I have excelled at math all my life. I have been tutoring independently for the last 10 years and have never met a student that I could not help better their grade to an A or a B. I have made an A in every math class I took in college except Calculus 3 where I made a B+. I have tutored at all levels of math up through Calculus 2 in the past with plenty of ease. Physics is also a very strong subject of mine that I have always understood very well and that I have a lot of experience tutoring.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have tutored Algebra 2 to many students in the past with great success. I have an Electrical Engineering degree and have always found it easy to understand and teach math to others.
Calculus,

Calculus

Calculus can be very challenging and fun at the same time. I have tutored Calculus to many students in the past with great success.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have tutored Geometry to many students in the past with great success. Geometry and shapes have always been easy for me to understand because of my love of the art of origami. It has allowed me to visualize shapes and angles in my head in 3 dimensions. This allows me to teach others to look at problems from multiple angles and better understand how to solve these problems.
Physics,

Physics

Physics is one of my favorite subjects because it simply explains how the world works. It is very easy to come up with real world examples to explain problems in this subject. I have found that relating a problem to real world scenarios makes it easier for a student to understand. I have tutored Physics to many students in the past with great success. I have an Electrical Engineering degree and have always found it easy to understand and teach to others.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

Precalculus is just the basics of the more advanced Calculus 1, 2 & 3.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

Knowing how to eliminate possible answers quickly, knowing which problems to skip and come back to, and which problems to solve immediately can make all the difference on an SAT score. I scored almost perfect on the math portion of the SAT both times that I took it.

ACT Math,

ACT Math

Just like the SAT math portion, I did very well on the ACT portion, and I have a wide array of strategies that I can teach others to maximize their score on the ACT while minimizing any wasted time and errors.

Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. One of the many classes I took was discrete mathematics and received an A in that course. I am very good at math, and even though it has been years since I have taken that course, I have been tutoring students in all levels of math independently since I left college and have never met a student that I couldn't help.

Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I took many math classes at UT while studying for my degree in Electrical Engineering. Linear algebra is just one of the many math subjects I am very comfortable with and should have no problem teaching.
Logic,

Logic

I took many logic classes while I was studying for my Electrical Engineering degree and found them all very easy. My digital logic design class, for instance, and my discrete mathematics class both had a lot of logic problems and I made an A in both of those classes.

Trigonometry,

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is simply an extension of Geometry that focuses more on angles, Sin, Cos, and Tangent. This along with every other math topic has always been a strength of mine and I have helped many students understand how and when to use the various trig functions to solve a problem.

Thank you!

Thanks for helping my son for an upcoming test. We will contact again if we need further assistance. My son enjoyed working with you. He has a much better understanding of Calculus now

Excellent Tutor - Patient and Knowledgeable

My daughter needed to review a particular precalculus concept that was giving her trouble. She worked with Alex for a one time session. He was able to teach her the section in the hour leaving her to feel confident about returning to class. Alex was flexible with scheduling and made himself available on short notice. We would definitely recommend him to others.

Very knowledgeable, great tutor!

Alex was awesome! My son understood Pre-Cal so much better after his lesson and did very well on the test. Alex went over the problems from his book he didn't understand as well as made up his own and explained the rationale. Would definitely use Alex again!

Great session with Alex!

My son (a junior in high school) was really struggling with Kinematics, and Alex gave him the help he needed to "get it." We won't hesitate to schedule more time with Alex should the need arise. Great tutor!

Above and Beyond

Alex made the experience enjoyable and clearly taught in a methodical way. He offered to help with assignments that I did not even bring up. He reassured me and addressed every question I could come up with. I can't thank him enough, I am experiencing some financial hardship so this will be the last time we can meet. In any case, Alex still communicated with me after the meeting to address assignment questions which tells me he cares for students. This individual is unique among tutors and I highly recommend him.

Early days, but so far, very good!

Very positive feedback from my son who was tutored by Alex in Physics. We wish we had found him sooner.
