Bio

I have been tutoring since I was 14 years old. I started out as a tutor in high school and then a note taker for disabled students at a SUNY community college.

The subjects I covered there were English, American History, and Psychology. When I was 18 I worked for a semester in the Boston public schools system in an elementary math after school program. I taught in small groups or one-on-one to students needing or just wanting some extra help in math.

The subjects I covered there were English, American History, and Psychology. When I was 18 I worked for a semester in the Boston public schools system in an elementary math after school program. I taught in small groups or one-on-one to students needing or just wanting some extra help in math.

For two years I was a substitute teacher in every grade level from Pre-K to vocational school. I taught in over seventeen school districts in Fulton, Montgomery, and Hamilton counties in New York state.

I truly enjoyed the challenge of experiencing a variety of different classes and grade I also tutored students out of regular school for different reasons, whether that be suspension, illness, pregnancy, etc. I taught them all their subjects in a two hour period each day, usually meeting at the public library. levels.I taught for two semesters at the University at Albany in the Communication department were I served as a Graduate Assistant. I helped teach public speaking, communication theory, and media communication classes. I also served as a substitute professor on an as needed basis.

Privately, I have tutored numerous high school students. Most of the time it is for a specific test preparation like the SATs or New York state Regent's exams. The most popular Regents I keep getting calls on to help student's pass after they are taking the test for the second, third, or fourth time is the Global History Regents typically taken at the end of 10th grade. I have a perfect record getting students to pass the Regents after tutoring with me. I have also tutored the American History and English Regents. In recent years I have also started teaching ESL 1:1.

I love teaching English! (I consider this my best subject and specialty.) Any English skill I am more than willing help with. I have experience with proofreading, essay writing, public speaking, any level Englis
