I am passionate about helping students learn to communicate clearly and flawlessly. Strong writing and oratory skills convey confidence, intelligence, and clearness of thought. I also love to help students find their own personal value in lauded written works. It is a great joy for me to see a student take interest in and connect with texts that they were previously hesitant to engage with. I believe reading is the ultimate key to being a great writer with flawless grammar.

My tutoring approach starts with meeting the student where they are and slowly building on their strengths while gradually and consistently working on their weaknesses. We first identify their teacher’s objective, then the steps needed to take the student there. These steps are individual from student to student, which is where I as the tutor step in and act as a guide and an amplifier of student strengths as well as a gentle corrector.
My credentials begin at Muskingum University. I first obtained my Bachelors of Arts in English. I had several works published, including a poem on Poets.org. I also won the Matilda Bailey award when I was a junior and graduated with a 4.0, then went on to get my Masters in Teaching. I tutored students of all ages throughout my undergraduate and graduate education. I love to read more than anything and always have. I try to retain that joy and awe and convey it to students when helping them read and write to their fullest potential.
