I love showing people how math can be easy and fun! It's a well-kept secret. So, if you aren't sure how to do something, we'll patiently and playfully, take it step-by-step and see how math is part of the wonderful world around us. I find that we learn best when we're curious. So, we'll find low-pressure ways to help you succeed that work with your learning style.

After graduating with an engineering Bachelor's (2008) and Master's degree (2010), I found that my love is teaching others. Now, for more than a decade, I've tutored middle school, high school, college students, and adults in math and science. Recently (2019-2020) I taught engineering at UNCA in Asheville, NC as an Adjunct Faculty in the Mechatronics program. And, simultaneously have been teaching home-school students in the area Algebra I and II, trigonometry, and geometry. With any student I work with, no matter their level, I find it's the type of attention they need that's most important in helping them succeed. I try to bring that presence, attention, and commitment to all of my students. Going at their pace and collaborating to make it fun, are key elements I bring to tutoring.

Algebra 1 and 2 and Trigonometry are foundational parts of engineering. We use them every day. Alongside tutoring, I spent 15 years working in the Aerospace industry for NASA and other companies that fly spacecraft. I enjoy sharing the inspiring aspects of math with all generations. And, I especially enjoy bringing students up to speed who may feel behind or confused - I believe patience and understanding go a long way in teaching the basic skills we need to get through life!

Physics is part of everything we do in Aerospace, from launching rockets to planning a spacecraft's trip to the moon. There are statics, mechanics, electrodynamics, and so many basic forces that construct our universe. I'm versed in many of them and enjoy teaching physics to others.

If you'd like to connect with me and see if we are a good fit, please reach out! I'd love to get to know y
