Hi, I’m Vince, and I love helping people understand physics and math! My favorite part of teaching is helping students reach those “a-ha” moments where everything clicks, and I’d love to help you have as many of these moments as possible! I want to make sure you’re getting the most out of your tutoring sessions, so I’m happy to adjust my teaching to make sure it works for you. I think the best way to learn something is to DO it, so my teaching style is focused on helping my students actively engage with the material. I like to have back-and-forth conversations with my students to see where they are with the material, and to help guide them to a deeper understanding. I also like using lots of examples to help connect abstract concepts to real-world applications.
I’ve been teaching in various roles for over 10 years, including 2.5 years of private tutoring. I started off as a teaching assistant for 2 years as an undergraduate, and then another 3 years as a graduate student, where I worked with students one-on-one in various labs and helped pre-med students get extra practice after class in problem-solving sessions. I then spent 4 years mentoring undergrads in the research lab before graduating with my physics PhD and teaching as a college professor for 3 years. I’ve worked with students from many different backgrounds, and taught a wide range of courses for physics and engineering majors, pre-medical students, and non-science majors.
