Hello! I’m Brooke. I graduated in 2014 from Valdosta State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. In fall of that year, I began my first teaching job as a third grade Reading/ELA teacher. After getting married, my husband and I moved, so I received my second teaching job as a fourth grade Reading/ELA and Social Studies teacher in another district. After working in that school for a year, my husband’s career took us from Georgia to South Carolina. I received my teaching certification in that state as well and became a fourth grade teacher that taught Reading/ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. I taught in that school for 3.5 years before we moved back to Georgia.

In the years that I taught, I gained the experience of teaching multiple content areas to students with a wide variety of strengths and weaknesses. This allowed me the opportunity to truly learn how to differentiate learning and teach individual students at levels that met them where they were and help them to grow as learners.

Since our move happened in the middle of the school year, I decided to take up tutoring as a job to fill the time. Little did I know just how much I would love tutoring students. As a teacher, I love watching my students grow in confidence as learners, and I quickly realized that one of the greatest benefits of tutoring is that you get to play a huge role in helping that confidence grow due to helping students one on one. Over the past 4 years since leaving the classroom, I have tutored numerous students ranging from kindergarten-6th grade in a variety of content areas and formats.

I believe that the greatest difference that a teacher/tutor can have is helping others to see how successful that they can be as a learner. I want to benefit the students that I work with as much as possible, so I welcome any suggestions that parents can provide for their child. Please feel free to reach out to me as I will respond quickly. You may contact me to ask any other questions that you have or to schedule a session
