My expertise in tutoring is in Language Arts. I specialize in teaching Reading and Writing from six years old through adults. My education includes a B.A. in English and two Masters Degrees in both Elementary Education K-6 and Special Education N-9 from Boston College. I have extensive experience teaching Language Arts. I taught a reading program for Title One, tutored migrant worker's children in both reading and writing, and taught Remedial Reading and Writing at Eastern Florida State College for the last nine years. In addition, I have taught the second, third, fifth, and sixth grades. My background also includes teaching Special Education students with various learning needs.

I have also tutored many students throughout my career. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and learning. My qualities include patience, kindness, and empathy. I have come to realize over the years that students learn from many different teaching styles. I know that no two students learn the same way. Throughout my career, I have been able to effectively teach students who are visual, auditory, and tactile methods. In conclusion, I love teaching and working with students. I have references available upon request.

Very patient, kind and knowledgeable

Patricia could get my grandson to actually get his work complete in the hour session. She is very good with children, and knows her stuff. She is teaching grammar, writing, reading comprehension to him. So far I have had two lessons and am very satisfied and will have more soon.
