I'm Bo! I attended Colorado College, graduating in 2016 with a BA in English Literature. After undergrad, I returned to the Greens and began my journey as an educator. I spent the next four years coaching junior alpine skiing and tutoring middle through high school students in literature and essay-writing. These early experiences inspired me to take steps towards honing my craft.

In 2020, I pursued graduate studies at UVM and got my MAT with a focus on middle level curriculum and instruction. During my student-teaching practicum at Edmunds Middle School, I had the privilege of working with a highly-experienced team of teachers dedicated to implementing social justice education in the Burlington School District. Under their mentorship, I developed humanities lessons concerning topics of social identity and systems of oppression and, subsequently, received the Teaching for Social Change Award.

Since then, I have taught reading and writing at a private elementary school. I am also an instructor for Trapezium Math Club, an online elementary math enrichment program. This diverse range of experience has led me to develop a cross-disciplinary skill set. I can provide quality academic support in elementary math, reading and writing, and I'm a skilled writing tutor for upper grades, as well. My goal, both in the classroom and tutorial setting, is to foster a teacher-student relationship that cultivates intellectual curiosity and supports individuals in achieving their innate potential.

My knowledge of developmentally responsive teaching practices combined with over five years experience teaching this age group means I'm especially well-suited to tutor students at the middle and elementary level. I have also taught and tutored a wide range of subject, including elementary math, reading/phonics skills and writing.
