About Marisa Joy

Bio

I've been a teacher for more than 15 years. I've worked with children from birth through 21 years. I have 10 years experience working with children with reading difficulties/disabilities, and I am Orton-Gillingham trained (100+ hours of training )to assist with teaching reading to special needs students. I am currently working as a 1st Grade Teacher.

I've taught Pre-K, 3rd Grade, and Middle School (Grades 6 - 8). I am able to teach all subjects, and I have an open schedule which will help...

I am currently working as a 1st Grade Teacher.

I've taught Pre-K, 3rd Grade, and Middle School (Grades 6 - 8). I am able to teach all subjects, and I have an open schedule which will help with finding the right time for YOU. My goal in tutoring is to help people reach new heights, and use the skills they learn to take them to the next level academically.

Recently completed the requirements for BACB Registered Behavioral Technician certification, which is a national accreditation for educators that work with children on the Autism Spectrum.

Our touring session was only an hour, but she was very nice, patient and smart. If my son wasn't dealing with a learning disability, I would have continued using her as a tutor. The school recommended a specialized tutor for my son.
