About Carolyn

Bio

I am a certified teacher who has been employed in public and private school settings for over 30 years. Much of it has been as a substitute teacher. Substitute teaching has offered me variety, exposure to across the board curriculum and children from K-12th grades in all types of settings including, but not limited to: open/closed classrooms; large/small/individual groups; special needs; Title 1 reading. I prefer teaching small/individuals over large groups.

I have cooked in my home from scratch since I was nine years old. I have also worked in commercial kitchens with food prep, baking and serving. I have also held an Oregon food Handler's license.

I have sewing experience and have been sewing since I was about 10 years old. I am familiar with fabrics, colors, patterns and design. I have sewn dresses, pants, crafts, simple curtains, appliques, and zippers. I recently learned how to re-upholster seats to wooden chairs. Yes, I can teach the basics.
