Hi, my name is Crystal! I graduated from Georgian Court University with a Bachelor’s degree in English. Currently, I attend Monmouth University and I will obtain a Master’s degree in the Art of Teaching Students with Disabilities (EDE MAT TSD) in the year of 2021. In my opinion, academics should be fun for students, and my goal is to enhance your child’s learning through the use of certain techniques and supports to accomplish fundamental skills and knowledge during the early years of a child’s life. This will be done through the use of technology, visuals, songs, videos, age appropriate worksheets, sensory play, modifications, repetition, creative teaching, etc. These techniques and supports will actively engage children and their learning as academic content will be instructed through the use of the New Jersey Academic Standards.

Furthermore, although I do not have experience in tutoring, I have taught several lessons inside an elementary school classroom. For example, I completed 120 hours in a third, fourth, and fifth grade general education and a Learning and/or Language Disability (LLD) classroom which included children with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Learning Disabilities, etc. During this time, I communicated with a collaborating teacher on students’ performance, experienced various teaching methods, and provided differentiated instruction with hands-on activities to meet the needs of each student. Next, I completed a total of 100 hours in a kindergarten classroom. During this time, I instructed individual students with their class work through various techniques, and designed/ taught engaging and interactive lesson plans in multiple subjects.

All in all, learning should be fun for every child and my goal is to make sure students benefit from instruction. Therefore, I am open to any suggestions or resources provided. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if you would like to schedule an appointment for a lesson.
