Hi! I am Robin and I have tutored math both in high school and college. I have my B.A. in Mathematics from SUNY Potsdam and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from University at Albany. I tutored and taught Calculus through SUNY Potsdam, Sienna College, and University at Albany. I love sharing knowledge and helping students get the same feeling from Mathematics as I do, or at least getting them to stop hating it and get an "aha!" moment.

I posses an understanding of the material and the ability to pick up a textbook and help a student in need. Mathematics can be tough and it is by far not the most popular subject in school, so one of the responsibilities of the tutor is to make it look less terrifying and more enjoyable.

I not only enjoy helping students with math, but I also want the students to enjoy math as well. After reading my profile, if you would like help with any mathematical work and you think we would be a good match, please let me know! I'm open to trying it out first before setting sessions in stone, and my schedule is as flexible as you need it to be.

I also enjoy playing and tutoring chess. I have been playing for 20+ years and taught chess for four consecutive summers. If you have any questions involving chess, please let me know!

Provides Clear Understanding

After just a couple of sessions, Rob has been able to explain the material in a way that has given my son a clearer understanding of some of the concepts. He has been very flexible with scheduling. Rob is more then willing to increase the length and frequency of the sessions when my son has an upcoming test.
