Being a teacher of young children has made me patient, cheerful and emphatic. I am organized, patient, creative and determined to help others, young or old, become more empowered individuals by learning a second language such as English.
I have taught preschoolers in the United States for 15 years. Aside from Americans, I had a couple of English language learners from Korea, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, and China whom I taught English to. During the pandemic, I pivoted to being an online ESL teacher to Turkish students—and I love it!
Children learn fast as long as you speak their language—play! So, I would make learning English fun for them—using lots of songs and storybooks, movement, and games. I would also use a thematic curriculum in order to make learning more interconnected and cohesive. I enjoy making lessons and experiences that are meaningful and fun. I am determined to help others become more empowered by learning a second language such as English.
I believe that being able to teach others is a special gift that I humbly possess. I have a special connection with my students that makes them eager to learn and open to new ideas.
In my free time, I love to read, watch Asian dramas, eat out, drink matcha and bubble milk tea, hike, walk by the beach, and play in the snow!
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development. I have obtained both TEFL and TESOL international teaching certificates. Also, I have met the qualifications for C2 proficiency in English.
