I have been teaching biology at the secondary/college level since 2010. The courses I have taught include multiple levels of biology, as well as Honors Anatomy and Physiology, Honors Genetics, and Environmental Science at the High School level and Principles of Biology, Principles of Anatomy, Human Biology and Biology 101 at the college level. My tutoring jobs started when I was in college, where I worked as a TA for several semesters. I then continued to tutor high school and middle school students after normal school hours once I was a teacher. I have done home instruction for many students and have been tutored many international students as well.

I love to work with students one-on-one and find that tutoring is a very rewarding experience. Sometimes a student just needs to review material or get organized and something suddenly clicks and makes sense. As a teacher, I understand that students learn in many different ways. I try my best to always assess my students' learning styles and cater my tutoring sessions to them. I also enjoy making topics relatable to students, either through hands-on activities or analogies that they understand on a deeper level.

Science has always been my passion, starting from a young age. If there is something I am not sure of, I will research it and learn everything I can about it. Anatomy and biology are my favorite subjects, but as a science teacher, I have had to also pass several PRAXIS and standardized exams to get where I am today. Unlike many teachers who have their bachelor's degree in education, my 4-year bachelor's degree is actually in biology, meaning I had to take more science classes to meet graduation requirements.

I truly enjoy working with students to not only improve their grades, organizational habits, or study skills, but also to help instill in them a love of science and learning. I hope that tutoring you or your child can be a rewarding experience for both of us and I look forward to hearing from you!
