I am a Florida Certified High School Math Teacher with more than 20 years of successful classroom teaching and tutoring experience. My classroom experience includes teaching in both public and private schools, as well as the state college level. I love math and enjoy helping students learn and appreciate the importance of this critically important part of their educational experience and development, regardless of their academic/career goals. I have taught all levels of high school math including pre-algebra, algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, trigonometry, and pre-calculus. In addition, I have taught SAT/ACT Math Prep classes. I will meet students "where they are" in their current math course. Having taught students at all levels of achievement, from struggling to honors/gifted and IB, I am able to employ multiple strategies and methods to problem solving. One of the interesting aspects of teaching/learning math is an awareness that there are various valid ways to learn to solve problems in math. I am effective in recognizing this and work with the students I tutor to guide them to achieve success in mastering their material and to build confidence in their ability to succeed in their future math endeavors.
