I consider it an honor to help children fall in love with books who have previously found reading frustrating. My family owned a bookstore for years and it was always a delight to help people find literary treasure! I have a M.Ed from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, and am trained in the Wilson Reading System, a multi-sensory, research-based instruction method that caters mainly to challenged readers K-adult. It requires at least 2 sessions per week, parent involvement, and an ongoing commitment, but is very thorough. I also tutor in English, writing and grammar. I teach almost exclusively online, but also teach out of an office convenient to Hoover/Homewood/Mntnbrk/Vestavia and the 280 corridor, with a lovely waiting room. I am the mother of one son who is a graduate of Samford University. Thank you!

Knowledgeable, Passionate, and Very Helpful

My daughter has been tutoring with Ms. Diane for 4 months now for reading. In this timeframe, we have began to see great improvements in my daughter's reading skills, academics, and more importantly her confidence. Before she was not very comfortable reading, but now she jumps at the opportunity. Also, she reads at bedtime to her four year old little brother. My husband and I highly recommend Diane for your tutoring needs, she so sweet and amazing.

Patient and very knowledgeable

I can tell a my daughter is learning and she also has more confidence when sounding out words. I know she is an awesome teacher because my daughter is asking to attend tutoring. No rushing to learn with Diane.

Diane is wonderful, energetic and patient with my struggling reader

She is such a joy and is very helpful! She keeps it fun and my daughter enjoys (even looks forward) each visit. My daughter has been very disappointed whenever we had to cancel an appointment.
