About Esther

Bio

I have been an educator for quite some time, specifically in Washington State, Shanghai, China and the Los Angeles area. I help students from the K-12 level in areas of Math (number operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, data statistics and probability) and Verbal (synonyms, sentence completions, and reading comprehension. I also help with essay writing and I have helped students in the Los Angeles area since 2012 with the ISEE and SSAT exams to get into private K-12 schools. I have...

I have been an educator for quite some time, specifically in Washington State, Shanghai, China and the Los Angeles area. I help students from the K-12 level in areas of Math (number operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, data statistics and probability) and Verbal (synonyms, sentence completions, and reading comprehension. I also help with essay writing and I have helped students in the Los Angeles area since 2012 with the ISEE and SSAT exams to get into private K-12 schools. I have helped many students with ACT and SAT exams which is the entrance exam for college. Many of the times it's improving more specific areas such as algebra, vocabulary, study skills, time management and strategy.

My experience working in China for more than 4 years has allowed me to help over 300+ students and working professionals.

From 2012 to present day, I have helped over 100+ students prepare for the Lower, Middle and Upper Level tests for the ISEE. I was very proud to see many of my students achieve success in getting into private schools across the nation. I am here to help your student improve in each area and improve on their strengths.

In the last 2-3 years, I've seen a lot of movement in the public schools in the San Gabriel Valley. Many parents have come to me and asked me what is Common Core and I've attended a meeting on Common Core for the San Marino School District. Even though Common Core is still relatively new in Los Angeles or the West Coast. There is a lot of information online of Common Core's presence in East Coast public education schools. I was able to conduct one seminar on Common Core to parents and staff back in February 2015.

I have helped over 30 students prepare for the Lower Level, Middle Level or Upper Level Tests from 2014-Present. The Verbal Reasoning (VR) was the biggest challenge for most of the students I've tutored was the Verbal Reasoning section of the ISEE. Many students did not want to take the time to learn the root words or the vocabulary. The math sections and RC were relatively easy given the test taking strategies that I have given each student.
