I have taught Spanish and English as a Second Language for over 25 years. I take great pride that several of my students have followed in my footsteps and are now teachers as well. Learning another language takes much practice and patience. I attempt to make learning as interesting and fun as possible. I have much enthusiasm and passion that is very contagious.

As a university student and a public school teacher I have had many opportunities to travel and live in Spanish speaking countries- Spain, Mexico, Chile and Argentina. In addition to teaching high school Spanish I have also taught ESL to young people and adults. In 2008 I participated in the Fulbright teacher exchange in Cardenas, Mexico. I taught English to university students at the Colegio de Postgraduados, Campus Tabasco for one year. In exchange, the Mexican teacher taught Spanish to my high school students in Pennsylvania. In Mexico I lived in a community where very few people speak English and was was fully integrated into the Mexican language and culture. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen my Spanish skills as well as make life long friends.

I began my study of Spanish when I was 12 years old. I have many Spanish speaking friends with whom I communicate regularly. I continue my study of Spanish grammar and syntax.

I am available to tutor after 4 PM and on the weekends. Learning another language can be a lot of fun and very beneficial as well.
