Really patient and explains throughly

Honestly John explained the concepts better than my math teacher did in school. He doesn't speak about math like you're some expert or an idiot, he doesn't talk over your head using jargon. He tells you what things mean and how they work in simple, everyday terms. He connects the dots between math concepts and shows you how they relate. John really knows what he's doing, he doesn't push people to go too far at once like other tutors I've had, he makes sure you have the basics and then covers the more advanced material at a comfortable speed. I'd really advise seeing him if you struggle with the basics or have an uneven understanding of math (some basics, some hard).

Excellent at explaining the basics

Work through the mean value theorem, the second derivative and curve sketching. This pieced things together in my mind and made it easier to understand. We also worked through several example problems. John was excellent!
