Bio

Hello! I am a 4th grade English and Reading teacher who LOVES reading and writing! I have been teaching for 23 years; some of that time has been in early Elementary (preK-2nd) and most recently in 4th grade.

I have tutored most of those years on and off. I love helping my students figure out how they learn best, equipping them with the skills they need, and helping them develop a love of learning.

Vocabulary is a tool that is helpful, not only in reading comprehension, but also in writing. The development of my students’ vocabulary has been a core component of my classroom for 20+ years. My kiddos have fun playing vocabulary games, not even realizing they are learning new words. Soon, they are able to use context clues on their own to figure out word meanings all on their own.
