Hello, I am Karen. I taught mathematics for 15 years at a technical high school. Prior to teaching high school mathematics I worked in the benefits field as a communication consultant for 18 years. when I came to education, I enjoyed the interaction with my students and especially the moments of euphoria when they understood the concept we were working on.

In retirement I would like to continue the student interaction on a one to one basis, helping students overcome difficulties they are having on a particular topic. Making math accessible to all students and bringing the connections to their lives brings me satisfaction and the students success.

In my 15 years of teaching I taught prealgebra, algebra 1 and 2 and Geometry. I was also involved in writing curriculum for all of these classes. I feel comfortable creating mini lessons for any of the subject matter in these topics.
