Hello! My name is Teri and I have been a classroom teacher for the past 28 years. I specialize in middle school Reading and English, with a passion for helping kids of all ages succeed in school. I have a bachelor's degree in education and English and a master's degree in education and Reading. I am a certified English teacher and Reading Specialist. I have been teaching 7th grade for the past 22 years. I also taught 11th grade English online and have experience teaching young learners as well. I spent a summer teaching 4–9-year-old Chinese students the English language.

My teaching style is student oriented with a focus on active engagement. When working with students, I first assess their individual learning styles by observing how they process information and asking them about their preferences. Once I have a clear understanding of their learning style, I adapt my teaching methods accordingly to maximize their comprehension and retention. I select high interest materials and resources that my students find relatable.

With my years working in the classroom, I understand the student’s needs and strive to find the best approach to boosting their grades and confidence. I have worked with students of all ages with all different backgrounds. I’m an interactive and supportive tutor, using visual aids and modern technology to ensure the student’s needs are met and that their learning experience is both fun and informative. I’m a patient and dedicated tutor and always strive to create a learning environment where students are comfortable and confident.
