Bio

Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I especially love one-on-one tutoring. There is nothing more rewarding than helping students understand a difficult subject. I like to keep a positive, welcoming learning environment with plenty of patience and no pressure. Let me help you learn at your own pace!

I have over a decade of experience in tutoring and teaching mathematics and physics, both online and in-person. I have taught students of all ages, in many different subjects...

I have over a decade of experience in tutoring and teaching mathematics and physics, both online and in-person. I have taught students of all ages, in many different subjects including pre-algebra, introductory physics, calculus, and computer programming. Although my primary focus is now my software development business, I have not stopped tutoring and I still teach college courses as an adjunct professor. I am always looking to help as many students as I can!

I personally used this software for nearly every mathematics and physics course I took in college and graduate school due to its powerful computational algorithms. I even took a specific course on mathematical modeling using Mathematica. In this course, we utilized the software for its functional programming capabilities, much in the same way one would use Python. I recommend its use to nearly every student I meet with, whether as Mathematica in its full version or WolframAlpha on the web.

Super tutor - wonderful experience!!!

We hired Lisa to assist our daughter in college...she was required to take physics in junior year. My daughter knew early on that this was something that she would struggle with...right away, we sought out a tutor that would work 1x1 with her....we had never tried online tutoring and decided to give it a try....boy, aren't we happy we did and even happier my daughter connected with Lisa....my daughter met with Lisa regularly, calmed her down and took away some of the anxiety...allowed my daughter to feel like all would be okay....our daughter ended the year doing well. We know...without a doubt....and without tutoring, she would have struggled....we are thrilled Lisa was there to support her as a tutor, but someone that really became a friend to her....thank you Lisa!!!

She is such a great tutor! She was so patient throughout our session and made sure i was understanding at all times. Excellent Tutor

Lisa has been tutoring our son for a few weeks in algebra, HSPT review and 8th grade physics. She is absolutely brilliant and gifted with teaching young minds. Our son is far more confident in algebra and he “ understands” . His grades have been straight A’s . What I love is that Lisa will not give him the answers. She wants him to try on his own but she is right there with him working the problem on a shared screen. He is very comfortable asking questions and If it’s a new topic, she teaches it in a way he grasps quickly. Very flexible. Easy going With a good sense of humor when communicating with me. Our son said after todays class “ she’s just a really good, chill and fun teacher” . We have biweekly classes. We can send copies of HW, upcoming practice tests, pages from a text book before her session and she is always happy to help!

Lisa was very knowledgeable in going over my Business Calculus/Precalculus problems. She is a stellar tutor. Lisa walked me through each problem step by step and drew graphs/pictures of what the problems talked about to help me understand them on a deeper level rather than just talking through it. I highly recommend Lisa for anyone struggling through Calculus. She is an outstanding teacher.

Very Helpful

Lisa helped me with my pre-calculus university course. We went over applying transformations to graphs (vertical/horizontal shift, vertical/horizontal stretch), reading values from graphs, and using the TI-nspire CX II CAS calculator to solve for the roots of a polynomial. I learned so much in the 1 hour we were online together. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone needing help with Math, even if you're an adult student like myself, a new student or refreshing your knowledge of Math. I have already booked more sessions with Lisa to help me learn more before my final exam. Lisa is awesome!
