Hello dear reader and potential student,
I am a graduate of Dartmouth College (AB 2006, Government, Computer Science) and IMD Business School (MBA 2020, Strategy, Finance, Leadership) with professional experience in cultural anthropology and ethnography, white-collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and arbitrations, strategy consulting, and, most recently, consumer finance, lending, and risk management.
As a tutor, I've worked for Dartmouth as a teaching assistant for diverse subjects. These included computer science (e.g. algorithms), mathematics (e.g. multivariable calculus) and social sciences (e.g. cultural anthropology.) I've also worked as a tutor at the university's Writing Center.
While at an internship at the American University of Kuwait, I served as a private tutor for students, focusing on English, physics, and algebra/pre-calculus. More formally, I was a teacher and tutor of English language and literature at the American Legation Museum in Tangier, Morocco.
Recently, I have taught mathematics and English to Ukrainian refugees in the Upstate of South Carolina, and served as a mentor for children at the Meeting Street Academy in Spartanburg.
In terms of my approach to tutoring - that depends on the person being tutored. The fastest path to knowledge is different for each person, and learning can and should be tailored to suit personality, learning style, and areas of interest/difficulty.
Thank you for your consideration, and best of luck in your learning journey.
Sincerely yours,
Jameson
