Overall, I have experience teaching and tutoring in a variety of settings, from one-on-one sessions to classroom lectures at private schools to college courses. During my undergraduate, I tutored individuals one-on-one, mainly helping students in beginner French courses. In graduate school, I served as a teaching assistant for four art history courses, with class sizes ranging from 10-30 students. I worked with students in general art survey courses (ARTH 101 & 102) in addition to more specialized courses in contemporary art. For the students I worked with, I provided extensive feedback on written assignments and formal presentations. Moreover, I have experience preparing lesson plans, lecturing, and teaching within the museum context. I have primarily worked with first- and second-year college students so I am familiar with introducing individuals to the fundamentals of art history and theory.
I have strong command over the history of art and architecture in the Western tradition, with particular expertise in the field of modern and contemporary art. I have authored numerous essays on objects in North American museum collections, lived and studied in Strasbourg, France where I had the opportunity to travel to museums and galleries across western and central Europe, and I have had my exhibition reviews published in multiple art e-journals. As well, I have a good grasp on American history, the history of government institutions, Western political thought, comparative politics, and international humanitarian law. I would be happy to elaborate more on my professional interests and passions through scheduled meetings. The best way to reach me is through e-mail. I'm flexible in the format of each session and individuals may choose from the following options: study sessions to prepare for exams/Slide IDs, practice essay sessions, targeted art museum visits, formal presentation run-throughs and accompanying feedback, research paper revision sessions, or generalized meetings for introduction to special topics in art hi
