I come to you with 8+ solid and successful years of secondary teaching and tutoring in my free time. I fulfilled the role of Assistant Director at a private high school in Chicago for 5 years where I modeled a way for all secondary teachers to see the importance of setting high standards for students so they are able to be successful through their academics. I previously worked with teens at an alternative high school, and was blessed to help encourage them with goal setting skills for their future. I was the lead Departmental Math Teacher and also the tutoring coordinator for a school in Phoenix. As the tutoring coordinator, I worked directly with a company to decide how we will team up with their tutors to design an appropriate and successful program for our students. As well as those positions, I was a Senior Club Advisor, which includes administering a college/career assessment profile, steps to writing a resume, completing college applications and what is needed to apply to schools, along with going over what the FAFSA is and what is necessary to fill it out, we also talk about letters of recommendation helping students with all aspects once they graduate from high school. I completed a 2-year technology program that gave me certification in all Microsoft Office programs along with web-browsing and internet safety. I used technology in my classroom daily and encouraged the students to become comfortable with using available devices as well. I have also taught test prep classes that help students strengthen their already developed skills, utilize their time management and enhance their study habits. I am currently a life/academic coach at the University level and am eager to share many of my talents skills with everyone I encounter. I have the ability to assist students in bringing out the skills they already possess to be successful in mathematics. I can turn the most challenging subject into a positive, exciting, and successful experience for all students!

Algebra 2/Trig

This was my sophomore daughter’s first lesson with Amy. She doesn’t feel confident in the current work she’s doing in her advanced algebra 2/trig class. Amy was quick to establish a plan. She is extremely smart and yet easy to follow. After one hour, my daughter is already feeling more sure of herself. She immediately asked for another lesson with Amy for next week.

So happy

I'm so happy I made the decision to find a tutor for my daughter-- and that AmyLee is the one we found. A few months ago, my seventh grader was frustrated, discouraged and stressed as her math assignments became more challenging and her grades began to slip. After one session with AmyLee, her confidence returned and she began to understand the assignments. Thanks in large part to AmyLee, my daughter raised her grade from a C to an A.
