A Tutor Who Adapts to the Particular Learner

Our daughter has benefited greatly from a dozen tutoring sessions with Alex. We engaged him originally to help her prepare for the SAT, which he has done expertly, and he has helped her complete various school assignments as well. Coupled with subject expertise and teaching skills, he has been sensitive to our daughter's particular learning styles, strengths and weaknesses and has adapted his approaches accordingly. He has expertly and kindly brought out the best of her as a learner and in the process has boosted her self esteem and consequently, her school performance.

Alex is incredible

Alex’s scope of knowledge is nothing short of incredible. Not only did he do a fabulous job of explaining the problems (Full disclosure- I’m not great at math!) but he was incredibly patient and supportive and actually made studying fun. I was a little intimidated to tackle this material at first, but Alex’s explanations and methods of problem solving were intuitive and thorough. I am way more confident after these three lessons and will probably book more with him for next week. I’m no longer scared of the GRE.

Engaging and extremely knowledgeable tutor

As someone who has not tackled math since high school Alex was the absolute perfect fit. An engaging teacher, Alex is extremely well prepared for each lesson and able to pivot and quickly adapt based on my learning style and needs. He is patient and never makes you feel as though you aren't comprehending the concept; instead he helps you find a way to discover the trick to figuring it out. I would have never thought I could reopen this part of my brain but Alex made it approachable and, honestly, fun. I wish I had had a teacher like him at some point during high school - I truly believe my confidence and entire approach to math would have been entirely different. Additionally, Alex was always very quick to respond in terms of questions about the material but also logistics for setting up sessions etc. I couldn't recommend him more.

Alex is a very consistent tutor he responds almost instantly to every message I sent him and he is very flexible with meeting times and meets exactly when he tells you he can. Alex is definitely a people person and is someone that I was very comfortable tutoring with. Alex is a very knowledgeable person. Alex helped me get accepted to into the D.C internship International Business and Government Affairs program. He asked questions that made me think critically about myself, which made me explore certain aspects about myself that I’ve never even considered before. This helped me answer specific questions that the internship application was asking for successfully. Alex’s writing and editing skills are phenomenal he is extremely skilled in this and put in a lot of time outside our meeting sessions editing. The best college essay tutor!!

I have worked with many tutors to help me with my college essays, but Alex is by far the best. Unlike many other tutors, he really cares about the final product that is put out. Alex will spend extra time and go the extra mile to be sure that the essay is perfect. Alex will go through the essay with you to make sure that it is grammatically correct and as powerful as possible. So far, I have worked with Alex for two of my college essays. Alex helped both turn out better than I expected. I will definitely be using him in the future!!!

Incredible GRE Tutor

Alex was the perfect tutor for me as I looked to boost my math GRE score. He provided me with high-quality practice problems, a clear plan of attack for each area I was struggling with, and the confidence to do well on test day. Because he is such a whiz with these exams, he is able to explain any problem in three or four different ways, meaning he can really explain it to anyone. He was also exceptionally personable and accommodating of my schedule, very flexible and fair with pricing. I was actually quite skeptical of finding a tutor online like this, but my experience with Alex was a slam dunk, and I think significantly better and more affordable than the private companies. If you're really focusing on math for the GRE (or anything really), hire Alex!
