My name is Alissa. I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Phoenix, and Longwood University. I hold degrees and certifications in English, education, and administration. My areas of study were literature, to include British Literature. I am currently a high school English teacher.

I have been in the field of education for 19 years. I started my career as a middle school English teacher, and moved my way up to high school and eventually the college level. I love working with students and ensuring that they are confident in their writing and reading skills.

I want to ensure that all of my students are successful on an individual level. I have extensive experience working with students from grades 6-college level in all areas of English; however, I thoroughly enjoy working with students through the writing process. I also have experience working on public speaking skills as this is a requirement for all of my high school seniors.

I look forward to helping you be as successful as possible throughout all aspects of the writing process. Writing can be scary and daunting task for many, but learning some key strategies and skills will definitely help you through.
