Hello! I'm Lauren and I'm a first-year medical student and a recent graduate from UCLA. I have been tutoring for 5 years now and have had great success with my students, ranging from elementary to college-age students.
I began tutoring in high school where I mainly tutored in science and math. In college, I worked as a learning assistant for lower-division classes in the Biology and Chemistry departments at UCLA. In this role, I ensured students in these large courses understood the material presented in lectures and answered any questions they may have had. I also have experience working with high school and middle school students in various subjects like math, biology, chemistry, English, and SAT/PSAT prep.
I prefer one-on-one tutoring and being fully engaged with my students. I try to tailor all of my lessons to the student and accommodate how I teach to the students and the style of learning they like most. This could include applying concepts to real-world situations that allow the students to relate and apply what they learn to help them grasp concepts more completely.
I am also available to read applications and provide feedback on medical school applications like personal statements and secondary essays.
Please contact me with any questions you may have! I look forward to working with you!
