I have been teaching Accounting and Math at Chesapeake College and several other colleges for 24 years and have been tutoring those and other subjects for longer than that. I have also been a Home Teacher for Queen Anne's County Board of Education since 1991 (with some years inactive), teaching high school and younger students all their subjects (except foreign languages and various other).
I like teaching and I like tutoring. What makes tutoring different than teaching is the ability to individualize the instruction depending on what the student's aptitudes and needs are, while for teaching more than one student you can't really do that - it's more like one size has to fit all.
Accounting - I passed the CPA Exam (1993) and have 30 years of tutoring experience and 24 years of teaching experience at several area colleges teaching several different accounting classes - Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Principles of Accounting I and II, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Tax Accounting (Individual and Corporate), Cost Accounting, and others.
Math- Accounting is applied math. I have also taught Developmental Math at several area colleges (about 30 courses over the years). I've been tutoring or helping people with Math since I first realized I was pretty good at it way back when. I got an 800 on the Math GRE (max at the time) and 770 Math SAT.
I love helping people in Accounting and Math (as well as occasional other subjects). It gives me great joy to see someone finally "get it" after me helping.
This semester I have a light teaching schedule and am therefore rather flexible with respect to days and times, travel distance, and methods of communication.
