I'm Nima! I recently graduated with honors from Brown University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a 3.8 GPA. I bring a wealth of tutoring and teaching experience from diverse settings, which has led me to embark on tutoring through Wyzant to connect with a broader range of students. My tutoring approach typically begins by examining some of the students' previous work, allowing me to gain insight into their course requirements. Subsequently, I am flexible in tailoring our tutoring sessions to best suit their needs. Whether it involves reviewing assigned tasks, creating brief lessons on particular subjects, or exploring alternative strategies, I am committed to accommodating the preferred structure that my students find most comfortable.

As a computer science major, I have gained most of my skills in programming through my coursework. I completed many computer science classes including: Intro to Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Intro to Discrete Math CS, Modern Web Applications, Computer Graphics, and User Interface and User Experience. I have 3+ years of experience in Python, Java, C++, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I scored 5s on the following AP tests: Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Chemistry and I scored a 33 on the ACT. During school, I worked various internships at companies where I got to work on large scale projects.

I was a tutor for over two years during my time at university. I provided individualized tutoring sessions to my peers in computer science as an independent tutor in one-on-one in-person sessions. I helped with homework, exam preparation, and technical issues. I worked with each student on a tailored lesson plan that aligned with the goals we outlined.
