About Matthew

Bio

I graduated from MIT with a Bachelor's in Computer Science and a perfect GPA. Throughout my time there, I tutored both high schoolers and college students in a variety of math and science courses. MIT's Computer Science department hired me to tutor my peers, and I have over 10 years of tutoring experience.

I graduated from MIT with a Bachelor's in Computer Science and a perfect GPA. Throughout my time there, I tutored both high schoolers and college students in a variety of math and science courses. MIT's Computer Science department hired me to tutor my peers, and I have over 10 years of tutoring experience.

As a tutor, my students complimented my ability to take complex concepts and make them understandable. I communicate well, getting to the root of any confusion and helping students resolve any sticking points that might hold them back. I will listen to your goals and work to help you achieve them, whether helping you prepare the day before a test or working with you long-term.

After MIT, I joined Google as part of a program that only accepts tens of students out of thousands of applicants. My role there was technical but dependent on working with teammates from all disciplines and backgrounds–Engineering, Sales, Marketing, etc.–honing my ability to communicate with all types of people, taking into account their work style, background, knowledge level, and so much more. Translating that to tutoring, I find a personal approach to teaching the material to help students succeed.

Matthew is an excellent tutor. He went above and beyond with his time and schedule to work with me on implementations of data structures. He has a great understanding and had a knack for breaking concepts down conceptually, and through implementation as well. He was very responsive, and was happy to answer any questions I had.
