I have been tutoring for the last 20 years throughout middle/high school, college, and as a Physician.I worked as a director of a program coordinating mentor and mentee pairing for Harvard Students and high school students in Boston. I ran this group for two years and we had over 25 different pairings in the program. I also mentored my mentee about school, life, and college applications. In addition, I was an English as a Second Language Consultant on campus, and I worked with graduate students on improving their English skills and literacy. I have also worked as a tutor preparing Chinese Citizens for the U.S Citizenship exam as well as making them more comfortable with the English Language. Finally, I worked in Kenya for three weeks as a teaching assistant in math and English. I worked to analyze the strengths that students had in their writing and discussed with the Kenyan teachers how to address those issues.
My tutoring methodology involves identifying the student's strengths and weaknesses as well as their interests. I try to draw cross-curricular references to make the learning very interactive and fun. I feel that students who engage the material by direct application to their lives will better learn and understand the material. Some of my tutoring methods can include word games, addressing specific study skills, and encouraging the student to seek out more information than necessary to gain a better context of the material. Learning in context is always more beneficial to the student.
Recently, I started Medical School at Wayne State University. As such, I am also very knowledgeable about human anatomy, physiology, and other health related subjects and tests. Due to my schedule I currently have, I will only be able to see students on weekends.

Cancelation Policy: Cancelation of a lesson must be at least 24 hours in advance of lesson in order to allow planning of schedule. If cancelation is made less than 24 hours before, then a late fee equal to one hour of tutoring will be assessed.

Knowledgeable, reliable and patient tutor!

Our church engaged Christopher to help a recent immigrant, who was illiterate in her native language and English, begin to read and write in English, as well as to better speak English. Christopher was a faithful tutor for 8 months, never missing appointments and helping our member really begin to develop her English skills. We are very grateful for his work with her. It was important to her adjustments to this country!

Actually Engaged with My Kid

My son having a rough time in biology. Other tutors just lectured to him and droned on not even asking what he was having difficulty with or trying to give him techniques to help. From the first visit my kid was like “this is the guy”.
