Hi, my name is Sean. I graduated summa cum laude from West Chester University with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics. As an undergrad, I received several awards and scholarships for my high academic achievement as well as my mathematical curiosity. That curiosity led me to sometimes create my own math problems and attempt to solve them. In addition to my studies, I also tutored Calculus 2 in the university's drop-in tutoring center.

After graduation, I continued my studies at West Chester and held a graduate assistant position through the Learning Assistance Resource Center. At that time, I tutored a variety of math subjects, but my favorites have always been Precalculus and Algebra. In the summer of 2020, I tutored in an Academic Success Program designed to prepare high school graduates for a college level math course. I received my master's degree in Mathematics in 2021 and I currently work as a math instructor at Gwynedd Mercy University.

Although I have tutored in small groups, I prefer developing a one-on-one relationship with a student. Our interaction allows me to focus on the particular issues the student is struggling with and then employ strategies that will be helpful in working through the issue. My tutoring approach often involves asking questions of the students in order to gain an understanding of their thought process and reasoning on a given problem. I then provide support and encouragement as we break down the steps in moving toward the solution. I am a calm and patient person who enjoys helping students gain the confidence they need to succeed.
