Learning another language is one of the greatest learning experiences we can have as human beings. Another language introduces an individual to an entirely new culture. I am endeavoring to introduce and teach the Spanish language in order to give individuals one of the most beneficial tools for the future. The Hispanic population is undoubtedly the fastest growing race in the United States. Learning the Spanish language is a skill that will equip individuals for success in the future.
Learning a second language is very fun! I am currently a Spanish major at Troy University, and have taken 6 years of Spanish classes. I have had the privilege of teaching fifth graders for eight weeks, second graders for eight weeks, and college students of varying ages in Spanish. When teaching Spanish, I endeavor to make learning fun, enjoyable, but most importantly beneficial. I want my students to desire learning the language, and simply instilling a desire to learn. Everyone learns in a different way, therefore, I attempt to use as many methods of learning as possible in order to have the student learn effectively and learn as much as possible. When teaching, I use songs, rhymes, hands-on activities, worksheets, posters, handouts, etc to provide as many tools as possible for the student to learn.
