While attending college, I realized that I had a passion in mentoring students as well as tutoring students who were motivated for bettering themselves to make a difference one day. While attending college, I realized that I had a passion in mentoring students as well as tutoring students who were motivated for bettering themselves to make a difference one day. While proctoring an exam, I noticed foreign-speaking students ask for assistance with either pronunciation or vocabulary. At this moment, I knew I was being called to tutor, but have been unable to find the opportunity.
Although I feel accomplished when a student makes personal gains in their school work, I enjoy the learning dynamic that comes to fruition during the process. Good grades do not occur overnight, and I believe through steady, consistent, and patient study habits, effective learning can occur. Some of my experience comes from working for a university environment helping students understand vague and abstract concepts and how these can be applied.
I have a BS in Psychology and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. With both degrees, I received exceptional scores in research paper writing, compiling data, presenting on various topics, and have a deep understanding of sociological needs in this community. I currently work in a non-profit and have gained work experience immediately following graduation.
Formerly, I worked as a Graduate Student Assistant at a world-recognized university for a class size of 700 per semester. I have graded several hundred online discussion forms as well as a research papers. I am very capable of picking up "fluff" and identifying grammatical or punctuation errors. I am also an avid reader.
If you are experiencing difficulty in social sciences or English, I strongly encourage you to reach out. It may seem humbling or embarrassing, but I am here to give back. If you wish to learn more about my experiences or need help with tutoring, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you.
