Hi I'm Kristen I currently work as an actuarial analyst for a health insurer and am an Associate of the Society of Actuaries. I was an assistant in college for a Financial Mathematics course for 2 years (both in-person and online during Covid), which helped me realize my passion for helping others achieve their goals. I learned how to explain complex concepts in different ways and how to tailor each response to make sure every student understands, whether I was working with a group of students or 1 on 1. I recognize that every student has a different learning style and different math foundation, and my focus is to help every student succeed! I believe in building a strong foundation (since all math concepts build on each other) and will review any prerequisites and ask questions along the way to make sure topics are understood.
I graduated from Florida State with a Bachelor’s in Actuarial Science and Masters in Business Analytics, with a 4.0 in both programs. I am also an Associate of the Society of Actuaries which is based on a series of exams ranging from statistics to calculus to predictive analytics. Some of the courses I'm able to help with include Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Statistics and the preliminary actuarial exams FM, P, FAM, SRM.
Please reach out with any questions or to schedule a time to meet! I’m happy to help with any math subjects ranging from highschool pre-algebra to Actuarial exams. I also welcome students/parents to bring material to review to make sure we make the most out of each session.
