A Directors Guild director and a Screen Actors Guild actor I bring the experiences of an award-winning 40-year career in filmmaking. Knowing that film is a collaborative art, I began teaching my craft as I learned it, writing manuals, reviewing software and offering classes.

I am a published still photographer. My work began in the days of film and darkrooms and moved to the digital era. With a background as a filmmaker, I apply my knowledge of enhanced natural and studio lighting to my work as a photographer. I am currently learning to get the best work from the camera in an Android cell phone.

Beginning as an Equity stage manager, I quickly shifted from tech to creative, directing shows for six dinner theatres in four states. Mounting a new show every two or three months, I delivered 23 separate productions before moving on to filmmaking.

In studios, on working sets and off to distant locations, video is a key part of much of my production work. My three-part PBS documentary was shot and edited entirely in video. I was Showrunner on a series shot on location entirely in video. When I teach film budgeting or writing business plans or writing a screenplay, video is as integral to the discussion as film. "I'm a filmmaker" no longer implies exposing actual film. Filmmakers make videos, too. Now that cameras leapfrog their technical improvements to deliver astonishing images, video has become the prime medium for delivering content at every budget level.

I've been a user of Outlook since Windows 3.11 and I'm familiar with most iterations of the program since then. When Windows 95 was introduced, I wrote a 13 part analysis of the OS for the seminal online publication, WebZine Weekly. I covered the Windows and it's many parts including Outlook. I teach of series of filmmaking courses. Though somewhat peripheral, communications are essential and I've taught the use of Outlook as one of the best applications.

Norman B., My son's Best tutor

Norman was an excellent teacher for my son; under his guidance, my son got for the first time an A and two B+. He is very patient and always to the point. Whenever my son e-mails him a paper to review, he always gets back to my son. Norman was very kind with my son, however, when there is important stuff to be done he was firm and made my son understand the importance of the work. I am writing this review to stress the professionalism of Norman and I recommend him to all other parents. I cannot thank him enough for the amount of work he did with my son. This is the second semester that Norman has tutored my son. He tutors him French and public relation film making, and for the second semester he did it again. My son got a B in French and a B+ in the film making and my son is an official graduate. I do not know what I would have done without Norman. He worked with my son so hard and developed a good relation with him, motivated him and made him see the light at the end of the tunnel. He was very nice and firm. I will say it LOUD and clear: IF ANYONE NEEDS A TUTOR FOR A SON OR A DAUGHTER, I RECOMMEND NORMAN.

I learned about Animations and Animation pane and also slide timing - it was helpful as I knew very little...Norman was patient and called me right on time... We had a little bit of an issue with making sure Skype screens were able to switch but we figured it out - using Skype was very good.
