I use the analytical and communication skills I honed in law school to break down information and explain it in simple, easy to understand language. I follow the traditional teaching method using explanations, examples and demonstrations but I also believe in the Socratic method. That is I like to guide the student through his own reasoning and analysis. Although some material needs to just be memorized it is a critical part of education to learn how to think. I have a Juris Doctor degree from Baylor Law School. In addition to the required classes, I took enough electives to have a concentration in criminal law as part of my degree plan. Some of these classes include criminal law, criminal procedure, post conviction procedure, Juvenile Justice and an internship with the McClennn Co. DA's office. I also have a license to practice law in the state of Texas. In order to be given this license I had to pass the Texas Bar Exam which tests knowledge of criminal law and criminal procedure very intensely.

Excellent Spanish tutor

I was very impressed with Catherine. She helped me with a Spanish 2 midterm review, and I really got lucky finding her through this app. She understood how to talk about Spanish and how it would probably be tested on my midterm, and she explained concepts I didn't grasp perfectly to me. Speaking Spanish is a skill a lot of people think automatically qualifies them to tutor others, but tutoring Spanish well is a different skill set. Catherine has both. I highly recommend hiring her.

I can not imagine a better tutor. Catherine is fun to be around. Always friendly, no matter how stressful I made the class for her. Easy to reach by phone or e-mail. Flexible on last minute changes to scheduled classes. We live close enough to each other that she has even been willing to turn around and come back to our meeting location when I have been late to a class.
