A passion of mine in addition to teaching is to play boardgames. Over the years iv'e found that many skills and concepts can be taught through play. I plan and look forward to opportunities to engage students in a lesson that can be taught through game play whether it be a board game, card game, or verbal game. This method of teaching creates a fun, engaging environment where students look forward to new challenges.
I'm highly qualified as an Elementary teacher in Texas with a certification for pre-k - 6th grade.
I've completed 5 years of teaching Math and Science. Four years in 3rd and one in 5th.
I've been very successful at preparing students for the rigor and duration of the STAAR test.
With class rosters ranging from 45 - 50 students each school year around 80% pass the STAAR and 20%
being considered "Accomplished" or "Distinguished".
