Homeschooling my three daughters for the last eighteen years, my life revolves around loving them and teaching them. Reading, writing, literature analysis and all things English, delight our family and provide joy and discussion around our dinner table most evenings. Three different students with different learning styles challenged my abilities as a teacher at times, but my resulting interactive learning methods, writing models and diagnostic tools accommodate the most neophyte writer and most fledgling reader. My older daughters scored near perfect (1600) on their reading and writing scores for SAT! Your student will achieve mastery of reading/writing in my tutoring environment, as well.

Delivering the “missing link” concept of grammar, or spelling, or writing, or literature, to a frustrated student differentiates my instruction methods from any other tutoring method. When your pupil recognizes and places these “missing links” into his existing academic framework of English, an attitude of confidence emerges and the desire to write and read increases. Augmented reading desire signals increased academic appetite and improved grades!

When majoring in Communications at Baylor University, my passion for Speech and Journalism spawned compassion for the communicators in a our newly-created technological age. So when I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986, I immediately entered the world of teaching adults how to communicate in a digital world. My writing expertise came in handy as I taught word-processing skills of different software programs to classrooms of professionals who now needed to create their annual reports, performance brochures, and training manuals via desktop publishing. From the classroom, a tutoring business rapidly emerged and carried my career until Mommy time, when I took off the career hat and put on the mothering one when I birthed my first child with husband, Robert.

In this program, sight words don't exist because our language is composed of "phonograms". Beyond "phonics", I've used this program over 20 years with dozens of students with 100% success. My college students who have grown up with this program with me have 99% spelling accuracy due to the attack skills developed in this curriculum.

In helping students for the past twenty years prepare for standardized tests, I have found that pinpointing the missing grammar, composition, spelling rules in their foundation brings the transition from mistakes to perfection. The ACT, though similar to the SAT, requires advanced annotation skills to succeed in the passage-based reading sections AND the science sections; when I teach these skills, depending on a student's skill level, I often choose to teach this outside of the test until the student masters the concept. Some of my students have gained as many as eleven points on their score after spending time under my instruction!

Whether synthesizing themes, interpreting symbolism, applying one of "Booker's 7 Basic Plots", or writing a literary analysis, twenty plus years of teaching the great canon of Western literature to K-college level students has created vast stores of delight in my heart for Shakespeare's character in Hamlet, Dante's journey through the Inferno, Frost's thoughts on Mending Wall, Pip's use of the file in Great Expectations, and Achilles' battle of Troy in The Iliad. Teaching the elements of the literary analysis paper is where I see my students learn the most. ALL of my students have scored WELL on their AP Literature Test.

My oldest two ADHD daughters graduated cheerfully this past year from our homeschool and scored in the top 2% of the reading comprehension portion of the SAT and the top 1% of the writing portion of the SAT. The Wanda Sanseri method I use successfully transforms any student using phonograms, writing patterns to lay a foundation, short for the student in all academic subjects. My own 3 children are diagnosed with this debilitating disorder and have grown into thriving, eager students. With brief lessons, kinesthetic modality, and unique approaches, I teach to the ADHD student's strengths: intense focus for brief periods. Some of my methods include writing lessons while sitting on an exercise ball, reading while prone on a carpeted or comfortable surface, and dimming lights in a study area. Most students additionally respond well to concepts taught using auditory, visual, AND kinesthetic modalities.
Dyslexia,

The dyslexic students I tutored using the Wise Guide by Sanseri method, experienced success in reading and writing. The ideal time to apply this tool is when the child is in the grammar level; however, I have used it successfully with a tenth grader over the past two years. My now-senior student successfully scored in the top 3% on the reading comprehension and writing sections of the SAT and my ninth grader scored perfect on the reading comprehension and in the top 5% on the PSAT. Helping children read and write is my passion.

Our 17 year old was struggling in English. Since she has been working with Cristal her grades have improved and most importantly she loves going to her tutor sessions. This is only after 1 month.
