Hi, my name is Greg, and I've been a tutor for more than 13 years, working and training with a variety of companies. I've taught statistics and data science at the University of Southern California, where I also earned my Ph.D. in statistics in the department of Data Sciences and Operations. I created and edited GRE questions for the test prep company Magoosh for over two years. For undergrad, I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis (ranked #14 US News and World Reports) with a physics B.A. and a 3.9 GPA.

I have tutored dozens of students over the last 13 years, ranging from middle school to graduate students and adults going back to school, although I mostly tutor high school and college students. I help students improve their grades and overcome test anxiety. I also help students both review material and learn test-taking strategies to prepare for crucial tests like the SAT, ACT, GRE, and SSAT.

My approach to tutoring is to try to get my students to work through problems as independently as possible, with me there to provide guidance when you get off-track or confused. By guiding you when necessary, but making you think and work through problems on your own as much as you possibly can, my goal is to try to avoid that feeling of "I can do the problems when my tutor is here, but when I go into the test I freeze up." I'm patient with my students, so I don't get frustrated if the material is difficult.

For standardized tests, I enjoy teaching my students test-taking strategies including time management, knowing when and how to guess, working backwards from the answers, recognizing common types of wrong answers, and more. I've completed training with several test prep companies to learn all the strategies for success.

I hope to talk to you soon!

--Greg

Great Tutor

Greg was great working with my daughter to study for Physics C. He worked through several problems with her, explained theories and left her with his notes which was helpful for when she continued studying on her own. Will definitely work with Greg again.

Failed Stats. Had to take it again. Currently getting an A!!

Greg is the most amazing math tutor I have ever had. He breaks math down to its most simple of terms so it's easy to understand. I am always ahead of what the class is learning and complete my homework early. Greg is very understanding and makes me feel very comfortable with the material and confident enough to go into the test ready for anything. He has helped my confidence in math so much and I can't thank him enough!! Love you Greg <3 You are the best!
