I love teaching.

I am a certified New York State Physics teacher, with a credential in Adolescent Education. I graduated from Union Graduate College, where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching. I am an Eagle Scout and graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where I earned my Master of Science in Materials Engineering. I also earned my B.S. from RPI graduating Cum Laude. I am a certified New York State Physics teacher, with a credential in Adolescent Education. I graduated from Union Graduate College, where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching. I am an Eagle Scout and graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where I earned my Master of Science in Materials Engineering. I also earned my B.S. from RPI graduating Cum Laude. As an undergraduate I was a member of the Materials Science honors society, Alpha Sigma Mu and a brother of Alpha Phi Omega, a community service fraternity. As an engineer, my curriculum was heavy in math and sciences.

I am a tenured teacher and have been teaching Physics for 8 years at the high school level. I develop great and comfortable relationships with students, and teach through making students develop answers to their own questions. Any "teacher" can spout knowledge. That isn't helpful. I focus on trying to get the students to think through problems and use their prior knowledge to work one step at a time to finding a solution.

Growing up in New York, I was subjected to Regents examinations many times. As a result I am familiar and proficient with the style of these examinations. As an engineer, I am still highly qualified in the areas of math and science. Here is a list of the Regents material I am comfortable covering as well as the scores I received on the exams in High School. Math: Course 1 - 97 Course 2 - 97 Course 3 - 99 These courses cover Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry. They are now taught as Mathematics A and B. Science: Chemistry - 94 Physics - 96

Steven is extremely knowledgeable on his subjects. He takes the time and goes above and beyond to be sure the student has all the tools necessary to succeed. He will go into great detail on what is needed to be sure the student and parent understand the path forward.
