I am currently accepting students ages 3-adult for private violin lessons in Redlands, CA and surrounding areas. I have received teacher training for Suzuki books 1-4, and have been teaching since 2008 to students from beginning to advanced levels. With a focus on the Suzuki method, my students start their music journey learning proper violin technique, lesson etiquette, with a focus on learning their pieces by ear. Supplemental materials once a good technical foundation has been established to introduce note reading and music theory. As students progress, their musicality and tone is developed as they continue to learn pieces by listening, while they also develop a strong background in sight-reading, both of which are essential for well rounded musicians. I focus my advanced students on concertos, etudes, and scales to help prepare them for auditions and competitions. I am committed to helping students reach their individual goals and to help them discover exciting paths for their music. I received my B.M. in violin performance from Brigham Young University and a Master of Music degree at Boise State University. I have travelled internationally to perform chamber music in Italy and Slovenia and have played in professional orchestras in both Idaho and North Carolina.
