Bio

Current CA credentialed & experienced Teacher Muse providing tutoring support gr. 2-9. BA and teaching credential (UCLA), multiple subject (elementary) w/ supplementary single subject authorizations (through 9th grade) in mathematics (through Geometry) and English.

Originally taught 6th/7th grade self-contained/all subjects, in an elementary school setting. This included LA/world history core, math/science core, & everything else. Creatively incorporated into a multi-discipline program also...

Originally taught 6th/7th grade self-contained/all subjects, in an elementary school setting. This included LA/world history core, math/science core, & everything else. Creatively incorporated into a multi-discipline program also involved participation in the development of standards across the curriculum. My English authorization includes reading/vocabulary development & paragraph/essay writing.

Then with my math authorization as a middle school teacher, I found a teaching niche as a creative middle school Pre-Algebra Teacher Muse; grade 7 with accelerated sixth graders (occasionally with sections of SDAIE-7, Integrated-1, Geometry, or Algebra 1). I was involved w/math challenges, school contests, state standards (county rep.), and a Harry Potter Club w/ Gym Quidditch.

In 2014, I extended my Teacher Muse repertoire tutoring w/ WyzAnt, teaching a 4th grade summer school math enrichment, and a substitute teaching (gr. 2-8).

So for students of all ages, Teacher Muse tutoring is about sharing learning in ways that are personally meaningful, individually connect, and make sense in different ways w/ joy. I also have the subject content articulation understanding experience of where/how thematic topics continue/connect & the ability to scaffold for the learner. Able to assist students prepare for math placement tests, transition to various math programs at different schools, and offer math reading diagnostic tests.
