With my Master’s in TESOL from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont, I received excellent training to be a TESOL instructor; I also have grades K-12 teacher certification in North Carolina.

As a long-time teacher of ESOL, I have experience both in K-12 and higher education, both in the US and abroad. I have a good deal of international teaching experience in France, Japan, Guatemala, Myanmar, Kurdistan, and Saipan. Within the US, I have taught students from all over the world, so I am familiar with their learning styles and needs. I have also tutored many people, both children and adults, from Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

My second language is French. My students have been at all levels from beginning to high in varying levels with the four skills. They have come from every habitable continent in the world, from so many countries. I have taught pronunciation, accent reduction, oral and written presentation skills, different rhetorical modes, writing, both remedial and standard, business English, reading skills, speaking, listening skills and TOEFL and IELTS preparation. I can offer all of these lessons. My students find me to be caring, organized, focused on their needs, and knowledgeable about how English works. It makes me happy to see my students' progress and success, and they are better prepared to achieve their goals from my teaching.

I am always open to how you think our lessons are going, so feedback is welcome. Depending on your schedule and needs, I will give you work to do on your own outside the lesson. If a scheduled lesson does not work out at times for you, we can reschedule, as long as you give me twenty-four hours' notice. I can meet with students/clients in an agreed upon place in the area where we live, in my quiet home in the mountains of North Carolina or online.
