About Dorothy

Bio

I believe that learning can be fun, and that learning how to learn is part of the process. I have a master’s degree in psychology and over 15 years' experience working with individual students to help them reach their goals. My area of concentration in graduate school was cognitive psychology, which has to do with learning and memory.

Good grades are usually the result of good organizational and study skills, and good study habits. I help students learn to use these skills to improve performance in language arts, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and Latin. I also have extensive experience and positive outcomes in test prep, both high school entrance tests (HSPT, TerraNova) and college admissions tests (ACT, SAT, PSAT). Students I work with are generally middle school through high school and college age.
