I'm a student at Austin Peay State University working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a double minor in Psychology and Family Studies. I have always felt that my role in this world is to help the less fortunate and become their advocate, especially if it involves children. I'm a student at Austin Peay State University working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a double minor in Psychology and Family Studies. I have always felt that my role in this world is to help the less fortunate and become their advocate, especially if it involves children. I currently have an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and 3 certifications: Microsoft Office Specialist (2019), Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Training from the Tennessee Department of Children's Services (2022), and CITI Program (2024).

Outside of my college career, I recently became a tutor for a company called Varsity Tutors. The best way to explain my methods is this: Regarding spelling, I break down the word into syllables and put the sound it makes next to it. Since I participated in countless spelling bees, I strongly believe I'm a better fit to tutor children in spelling. Here is my technique for spelling: I break down each word into syllables and type or write down the sound each syllable makes. Ex. combination. com | bi | na |tion. com = calm bi = bih na = nay tion = shun.

Regarding math, I try my best to give my students hints, tricks, and pointers, especially for fractions and multiplication. We do a few problems together and once I see improvement, I let the students do some practice examples by themselves and check the answers together.

Lastly, I always ask the students how they are doing at the beginning of the session and give them words of encouragement such as good job or excellent when they get the answer right. I would ask the students if they are lost or need to go over anything once the scheduled session is over and if they need clarification. I have tutored children from ages 6 to 11. I lack tutoring experience in children with learning disabilities, but I am eager to learn.
