About Janet

Bio

I have worked in education at multiple levels since 1985. I am transitioning from Florida where I directed a 350 student Preschool, and taught separate class Special Education, as well as Kindergarten. I have also worked with Mild-multi Disabilities and Intensive Reading.

Excellent tutor!

Ms. G. has only met with my son a few times so far, but she has already made a big difference in my son's entire outlook. She has been able to reach him, and made him realize that he really is capable. She gets him to organize his thoughts, ideas, and research materials, and concisely and precisely put them into a written work. We will continue to see her, maybe through college! She is so kind and caring, my son even looks forward to her sessions and plans in advance what he wants to work on - this has never happened before. We are very grateful for her patience and interest, and highly recommend her.

We assessed both group and individualized approaches with industry recognized companies, as well as private tutors. To our good fortune, we identified Janet G., and following a phone screen, interview and meeting with our son, we hired Janet. Within the first week, Janet created an assessment plan and was very engaged in understanding our son's strengths, weaknesses, likes, and where he struggles. Janet discussed various approaches and learning techniques with us, laid out her plan and then quickly became well acquainted with our son. After the very first lesson, our son invited Janet to be a "special guest" at his next birthday party. Testimony to her easy spirit and wonderful demeanor! Janet has been working diligently with our son several times a week since, and has been greatly successful in getting him to “re-learn” the basics and gain confidence to persevere though the more challenging skills. Our son has gained a tremendous amount of self esteem as he has now begun to read on his own! We cannot thank Janet enough, and although we know there is still more work to be done, we couldn’t have achieved this much already without Janet’s exceptional talents and myriad of experiences that she draws upon.
