I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, with a middle school endorsement and a concentration in Mathematics. I also have a Masters Degree in Mathematics Education. I am currently in my 14th year of teaching middle school math. I am starting my fifth year teaching math at the Junior College level, and I have had research articles that were published in professional journals.

It is my opinion that there are two types of people teaching math in the world. There are mathematicians and there are math teachers. I am, without a doubt, a math teacher. I spent many of my early years struggling with mathematics in large part because of the poor quality of teacher that was put in front of me. I understand the difficulties, the struggles, and the frustrations that are often experienced in mathematics because I too dealt with those things for many years. I became a math teacher because I didn't want students to have to face the same negative experiences in math that I was forced to deal with.

As a math teacher, it is my philosophy that every student is an individual with his or her own needs, and therefore deserves to be treated as such. Throughout our tutoring sessions I will work at a pace that your child is comfortable with and will explore a variety of techniques and teaching approaches until I find the one that is best suited to your child's learning needs.
